In his lone season coaching at St. Somerville won 32 games, three Mid-State 38 Conference Championships and the Central Group 3 Sectional Championship during his tenure from Huggins spent four seasons at Rutgers and capped his Scarlet Knight days with carries for yards and nine touchdowns. Rutgers appeared in four bowl games during his four seasons and claimed the school's first-ever Big East Championship.

Boston College added a rising star in the coaching industry to its staff on Friday, as former UMass running backs coach Savon Huggins officially joined Jeff Hafley's staff on the Heights.

Huggins will work as an assistant to Hafley and offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti in a role specifically created for Huggins. UMass did everything in its power to keep Huggins on board after he joined the program earlier this year, but Hafley pushed hard to bring the former Rutgers and Northern Iowa running back to Chestnut Hill, according to a source.

Considered by many to be one of the fastest-rising coaches in college football, Huggins took on a key role in UMass' recruiting efforts in addition to his responsibilities as running backs coach during his brief stay in Amherst.
